Dudes, attention! This book won’t be discovered in the commercial bestseller-lists for sure, but it will hit in the world of music with a massive detonation. Thrash Metal made in Germany is nothing new; Thrash Metal written by GODS WILL BE DONE basically. After releasing their Demo 2007 the five guys based in Westphalia make their debut these days. And hats off to this performance: The Book Of Blood applies its story right there where some of the old Bay Area warriors lost their rough aggression once. Following a short spoken introduction (“My holy book is true, I am right – he is wrong!”) the first chapter of the (canting)holy scripture is renewed by the Mark Of Cain. Implemented into society by this basic book the attitudes, constructions, worldly wisdoms and laws carries enough thematically explosives, which are reflected with a pitiless openness by neckbreaking tracks like Divine Brutality or False Prophet. Combining cleverly old school Thrash elements and trademarks of modern Thrash, GODS WILL BE DONE create a Thrash-bastard like just a few bands are able to do nowadays. At heart this sound is the forceful advancement of old roots without losing hardness and without compromises. Stylistic sameness can read out of The Book Of Blood only then, if one is a friend of manifold influences and variations. A pumping and impulsive bass, saddle-fast and aggressive riffing, well-placed solos and a powerful drumming up to blast-parts arrange a steady present, straight up-tempo atmosphere. The shouted vocals by Gulle complete the uncompromising branded picture (the rare melodic parts point further fitting potential out).
12 chapters (Lamb Of Sacrifice and Eat You Whole were also embedded in the Demo 2007) stand tantamount to 12 denouncing hits into the religious biased face which find their worthy punch line in the last track called significantly The Exorcist. No question, having GODS WILL BE DONE in the Thrash Metal scene means having a damned raging and hot iron in the fire!
