Well - GORELORD
- Zombie Suicide Part 666. On the first sight it doesn't
look like music someone could seriously listen to - I don't even
want to know which quantities of legal/illegal drugs have been involved
in the creation of this album title but who cares about the name?
Anyway, when the music is listenable. Actually GORELORD is
only consisting of one band member - Frediablo, who has been playing
in Necrophagia, Wurdulak, Soul Forsaken and Grimfist so far as well
(at least the press info says so…). But lets go on with the most
important part now - the music.
The first tones of the CD kinda shocked me, since the sound was
like VERY poor and I thought OUCH, that's not for serious, is it?!
Anyway, after a few seconds all my misgivings ended up in smoke,
as this strange sound was blown away by the first riffs of The
Stench Of Flesh Decomposing. Frediablo is indenturing simple
but effective Death Metal riffs, with a (mostly) almost continuous
line of double bass drumming, loosen with some snare and cymbal
beats. I'm quite sure that he's using a drum computer, since it
just sounds too monotonous for a human drummer. The vocals are a
mixture between shrill cries, death grunts and gore gargles. All
that together sure got some entertaining factor - but it's just
not like this would totally kick me out of my boots. It's not as
extreme and shocking as Frediablo probably does it want to be. Humm
I really wonder why the hell he put those 2 demo tracks on the CD
- anyway, it sounds like a bootleg recorded with a mobile phone
or something.
To keep it short this album is sure listenable, more or less - for
the total Gore/Grind Overkill you still better go back to good old
Nasum, Exhumed, Regurgitate and stuff. 6 points and a wish for the
next album - get a drummer of flesh and blood - even if he's undead.
