Do you like your Black Metal in down-to-earth, lively, subliminal melodic and alternating way? Well, GLORIOR BELLI is the right address! The songs disperse a discreet dose of whipping Rock’n’Roll atmosphere and the oscillating leads show up in unobtrusive, but conveniently present manner. Fortunately, the musicians do not act in high speed continuously and integrate short breaks and slower measures to loosen up the scenery at best.
I appreciate the otherness of the third song Rebels In Disguise, which builds up an enormous knock-on-effect through its relaxed, highly melodic basis structure and the raspy, poisonous voice. Afterwards, the really epic tune Thrall Of Illusions surprises with a spherical beginning and speeds up effectively, combined with intensely galloping rhythms and fluent measure changes.
GLORIOR BELLI abstains from catchy refrains and the songs stay in my memory through interesting rhythms as memorable barbed hooks. The title track Sundown (The Flock That Welcomes) offers a borne kick-off, spotlessly clean speed attacks, canny breaks and pitch-black sound cascades including mystical chants, which exude an eerie aura. Later on, a spoken sample fits the arrangement of Out Of Cosmic Jail perfectly; the simple chorus and the accustomed mixture of explosive franticness as well as the melodic subtlety show up as additional brownie points.
GLORIOR BELLI take 66, 6% nastiness, they add one third of dirty Rock’n’Roll and round off their cocktail with an unostentatious melodic grasp – consumption guaranteed!
