2 years after debut album A Nordic Poem, this is the second output of the multinational FOLKEARTH – project. A higher number of musicians from several countries (this time: Sweden, Greece, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, England, Italy and the USA) has again come together to set to music their passion for heathen lifestyle and spirituality. The sound is much better than it was 2 years ago and the songs are much more varying and better developed. You have ballads as well as majestic choruses, cheerful and merry folk passages and even Black Metal fury in some places. Magnus Wohlfart and Marios Koutsoukos are still responsible for most compositions and lyrics. If you need some appetizers, I’d recommend The Lady’s Gift, Wisdom Of Wolves, Skaldic Art and Naglfar Sets Sail, whereas the Falkenbach cover Heathenpride was not the best idea as the original sound 10 times better. Nevertheless, fans of Folk and Pagan Metal should definitely try By The Sword Of My Father. Besides, the “band” is already working on the next album!
