After their albums Operation Wintersturm and Frühlingserwachen, the newest brute work of the German War Metal Band ENDSTILLE, is released. Dominanz includes ten breakneck, hateful tracks in the vein of old Marduk or Dark Funeral. Mostly the guys from ENDSTILLE play brutal, very fast, monotonous and hard Black Metal. Even though the new CD is rather monotonous (there's even a song called Monotonus III on it), it never gets boring or drawn-out. Many songs have long riffs, that are repeated several times, before they are interrupted by some really well used parts, which bring lots of variety to the songs. The opener called Dominanz, starts with a short intro, and not later than here, everyone knows the principle of ENDSTILLE. Faster, more brutal and harder... that's the devise. And this fully keyboard-less and raw Old School Black Metal guarantees everyone, who likes monotony, a real pleasure. Without any disturbing factor, like female voices or other unnecessary instruments, everything is stamped down. But for fans of melodic Black Metal, this long player is not recommendable. I also had to listen to this album several times until I could sound every melody out. But when you managed to differ every single melody, it's hard to get away from this CD, because the mainly heavy, dragging riffs, with all those hyper blasts, dominate this CD and build up an own atmosphere. For fans of the German war fetishists, Dominanz of course is highly recommendable, because ENDSTILLE didn't really change their style. Only the sound of the new album is way better, than on Operation Wintersturm or Frühlingserwachen. For people who prefer melodies and less brutality better don't buy this album, but everyone who doesn't know ENDSTILLE yet and likes monotonous and hateful Black Metal, should at least try their newest work.
