It is rare in the metal world and in the age of technology that a band can keep itself completely anonymous. DRUDKH has managed to do that, and yet maybe that is what makes them so captivating. Handful Of Stars is the tenth release from this Ukrainian mystery.

Technically speaking we are getting four new DRUDKH songs and surprise they follow in the same style as previous DRUDKH songs off their previous albums. Sometimes it seems they are rehashing old riffs and other times it seems they have found a new way to hypnotize with rhythmic bombardment. The guitars have always had that unique sound that contains a small element of a Middle Eastern twist, sounding as if some acoustic was thrown into this layer of sound. Vocals are aggressively screamed out none of which are in English and righteously so. DRUDKH takes pride in keeping everything about them a mystery including lyrical content. So as the rain falls it is a perfect backdrop for Towards The Light as the song enhances dreary feelings and hopelessness. Drums are almost always kept at a steady pace throughout the album. As Twilight Aureol comes into play I realize I am again under the spell of DRUDKH as their swirling layered riffs overtake and send you into your own little world. Whether it is their intention or unintentional to hypnotize you with their music only that is known to DRUKDH themselves. For fans of this band this is a must to add to your catalog and if you have never heard of them you shall still be awe struck by their indescribable sound.
