I don’t think I’ve came across something so plain and lacking of soul for some time. I can’t tell if it’s the pretentious name of the album, the corny lyrics, the absence of attractive traits in the music, the simple and redundant beats and the vocal work that for moments is quite decent and suddenly it turns to a wave of unorganized and forced insertions of sound, but I really can’t find much excitement in this album.
Now, DORRN is probably a great show to see live, but they surely came out short with Oversexed And Underfucked. Geez, even the bonus video is clogged with incessant clichés that really make the connection with the band terribly difficult.
On the technical aspect, the sound engineering, execution and general production of the album is very good; that’s not what DORRN is lacking of this time, you can tell they spent good money and time producing this album and even making it look attractive to the eyes with fancy graphic design and pictures from professional photo shoots.
I am pretty sure there are some people out there who will like this album, but definitely not me.
