The strong symbol of fire or the flame describes the celebrated music by DORNENREICH at best. On the one hand unleashed, blazing and dangerous, then again calm flickering in the evening’s breeze – and the sounds offered on Flammentriebe oscillate between these two poles from contained to heavy.

As usual, the intense voice of Eviga is one of the most important elements of the overall effect. He screeches, pules, whispers or recites in heart-warming manner without exaggerating his expression.
DORNENREICH returned to heavier paths, in alternation with the wonderful atmospheric passages, Black Metal comes to the fore. The violin play of Inve forms a thread during the epic tracks. The violinist conjures up wonderful melodies, but also slightly aslope sounds. The sound shows up in very organic style and is familiar, but spiced up with surprises. I feel like I visit a comrade and I feel comfortable, but this friend got a lot of news to tell.
The Flammenmensch rides on his way in really hefty and effervescent mood. Threatening and fast as an arrow, DORNENREICH prove that they are able to perform powerful black Metal with class. The aggression is contrasted by a nice calm part, but there is not much time to relax. Fine violin melodies, augmenting dynamics, whispered reluctance, impelling vocals and fragile melodic ability dominate the song Tief Im Land, ere one real jewel shows up with the track Wolfpuls; what a suspenseful and catchy, but also demanding and multi-layer composition! In the beginning accentuated rhythms dominate, before they get mixed up with formidable, sometimes quite inconvenient violin tunes. After five minutes, the song seems to die away calmly, but then the band speeds up again; like an enormous wave they play like intoxicated including double-bass curtain fire. This is a real classic in my opinion, because the heroic ending reminds me of a classic composition.
I also want to pick out the overwhelming effect of the lyrics, eminently in cases of extreme simplicity like during the piece In Allem Weben. Simple but brilliant! The pulsating and driving music contributes to downright enthusiasm caused by the dramas of the distinctive group…and if Eviga asks me during the track Fährte Der Nacht: “what will force you to go away?” I can only answer: “Nothing, I just want to stay and enjoy!”

Art gets sound, art gets word – and DORNENREICH entitled the result Flammentriebe!
