DODGE THYS – Mind’s Dye

When three sound engineers kidnap a very talented guitar player, founding a band then something like DODGE THYS might be the result. Hailing from Germany these underground terrorists walk abroad since 1999 having now released their second effort Mind’s Dye. Feeling home in alternative rock they blend in an array of elements touching psychedelic rock, stoner, retro areas, adding a proper portion of doom and groove. While Out To Myself and In My Arms turn out quite rockin’ The Heart Of A Son and Laid And Afraid are heavily melancholic.
Regarding the fact of three sound engineers partaking in DODGE THYS the sound itself is a bit dull, but suiting well the musical style. Knowing the sound the band wants, it’s a more difficult task how to create. On the other hand … knowing that the band never enters the stage below 3 ‰ I can well imagine that things drift away in studio too ;)
