The one-man-black metal project DISJECTA of the Italian guy called Kathaarian belongs to the positive surprises under the many promo copies which I receive constantly. Da Marmorea Lapide Ombrati this five songs comprehensive raw diamond is called. As I’ve fished this CD-Rom promo copy out of my mailbox I’ve been afraid to be forced to endure a really bad black metal record with a real bad sound and crudely boring songs once again. When Pestilence Was Born From A Rib Of Evil actually starts the way I expected. The beginning sounds definitely like a tape-deck eating your audiotape. But after this effect an inferno begins. Black metal, extremely raw and unpolished, without unnecessary melodies and a hateful voice, which embodied the meat-become evil nearly perfect. I would like to describe the music as a mix between old Burzum and old Darkthrone. Without compromises the only bandmember Kathaarian slaughters himself through 33 minutes and 37 seconds playing time. Songtitles like The Eternal Souls Live In Fire, Repel The White Light Creation or Inno A Nerone make clear that Kathaarian created his project DISJECTA to create primitive, grim black metal, which stands beyond any commercial thoughts. Kathaarian is definitely not interested in selling many records, but to compose music that only satisfies himself. And this is well done. Anyhow I hope to hear more from DISJECTA in the future.
