DELIVERANCE is an up and coming band form Gothenburg, Sweden. They have that signature Swedish sound, no doubt, but what DELIVERANCE also brings to the table is all clean vocals, nothing raspy. This is great for them for it really might get them more exposure than many of their competing harsh-vocal bands. The three songs on this demo are fast-paced and very catchy, and one can definitely hear the In Flames and Soilwork influence. There is not a dull moment on this CD - excellently structured songs, varying tempo, and melodic and intricate guitar work. The production is also quite strong for a demo, each instrument balanced well.

These guys are a young band, so I won’t press this point, but the only criticism I can say is that the singing does need a tiny bit of work. They are not bad, but I think as the band matures, the singer will greatly improve as well. Once they achieve this, I think this band will find its musical niche and really start to blossom. I have no doubt that their future albums will be quite amazing - I am certainly looking forward to hearing them.
