Since 2001 you haven’t heard anything from DELIRIOUS. At that time the German thrasher called the attention with Designed By Violence. Five years have passed since then but musically nothing has changed. Also anno 2006 the big three of the German thrash and the usual suspects from the bay area are the main muses for this band. To this they add sporadically some modern elements. Nothing special until now. DELIRIOUS prove undoubtedly with merciless bombs like the opener Tripple Six, Idiot Nation or Down On Myself that they are able to play this sound. But they aren’t the only ones on the world who can.
What rises DELIRIOUS from other bands is the inclination to the melodic thrash. Only rarely they forget some melodic riffs. During the best song of the album, the six minutes track Hate Trader; you can hear string instruments, while the following My Friends emerges as a pure ballad. The guys raise their own monument with Rangers Elite: after being introduced with The Sky Turns Red, an acoustic song that remainds me of Blind Guardian, DELIRIOUS thrash and bang their instruments four minutes long in the most violent Slayer – style. On the last place on the CD there was put the witty Iron Butterfly – cover In A Gadda Da Vida.
Surely DELIRIOUS delivered with Made For The Violent Age one of the most varied and interesting thrash metal album lately.
