Seems like
the fans have to wait a little longer on the very first live DVD,
which was already announced last year, now set to be released
in fall 2007. To make the waiting more pleasant CLAN OF
XYMOX mastermind Ronny Moorings decided to release an
EP in between entitled Heroes.
It is not so difficult to guess that Heroes is the classic
by David Bowie, covered by CLAN OF XYMOX in two
versions. First version is dubbed as “slow Industrial version”
and much more original than the Pop-version that follows later.
Just the “Industrial” aspect COX
could have lived out more intensive ;)
It follows On A Mission a brand new song, again in two
version, whereas they differ just marginally. First one is luckily
not that… let’s say technoid, with leanings to the
older work, a bit darker, while latter one hits the dancefloors
with driving beats.
The quintet gets rounded up with Be My Friend in its
single version, a successful track from the last record Breaking
Point, which has pleased many fans with its Carl
Orff theme that I actually found quite trite.
Upshot: Hmm… well, as for me I find Heroes
a bit meager for this EP. I’m sure that there are still
many rare or even unknown remix-versions and other stuff that
would have jazzed up this EP. Same goes for the booklet. This
way you just notice and even long more intensive for the DVD.
7 points.
