Bloody Mary - a name full of history and already used manifold. There are the most different institutions with this name, not to forget this delicious hangover killer and at last there are both a German and a British band. And now I got to learn about an Italian outfit BLOODY MARY who have committed themselves to Gothic Rock suitably. Founded back in spring 2000 (and thus a temporal advantage at least to the German band), they have released Bloody Zero Live end of 2001 to document their live qualities.
BLOODY MARY serve us with their self-titled debut solid Gothic Rock, pretty lively and not ingratiating to present stereotype bands like HIM and Co. You probably could more refer to old British veterans. Above all this music lives on the singers Aldebaran warm and dark voice. Already opener The 2nd Chance knows how to convince, pleases and let you willingly move. Fat bass lines and a groovy sound together with a damn good production. Little Sister follows these roots, just rocks out a little bit more. Also Cease To Burn emerges as a proper highlight. Closer Face To Face is a Twins cover version. It’s probably a matter of taste. In my opinion it was not really necessary.
Certainly there is still much to improve, can be more sophisticated, but though it is an impressing debut. Bloody Mary should refresh the scene and the dance floors. I like it!

P.S. By the way, you can download all tracks from the band's homepage ;-)
