Paderborn, Germany: everyone has heard the name of this city but nobody hardly knows where it is located. But actually this city should get more attention! The domiciled talent-factory spit out top-class underground acts again and again. After Gods Will Be Done, Woof, Steve Austin and many others BLOODWORK go on to rumble the underground right. The band who founded back in 2006, claimed the “Demo Of The Month Throne” in Metal Hammer Germany (issue October 2007) with their melodic Death Metal demo. Already one year later - that’s remarkable. And while listening to their demo, Paderbronx’s cathedral ruins begin to unhinge. Embedded in five tracks, the five guys chop fresh, modern, melodic and aggressive Metal around our heads, which will please all fans of Soilwork and Co. The guys act absolutely professional! They combine aggressiveness with catchy melodies and partly clean refrain-vocals without being rookie like plenty of other bands are. That makeme wondering: what have they done before BLOODWORK? There are no facts on the flyer or on their MySpace-Site. But let’s go back to the music: Demonic is the first killer – propulsive drums, heavy riffing and vocals heavy on Metalcore by chef-shouter David purify this song to a worthy opener. Together with the melodic and catchy parts this song becomes second nature to the listener. This song is efficiently built up! Behind The Lie is calmer than the aggressive opener, but it convinces at the whole line with the intersection of melody and metal. While listening to Deadline one thing comes clear: BLOODWORK succeed in the balance of pure Death Metal (Gorefest is brought back to my mind) and their own style of catchy melodies and clean vocals. The neck still circles for two times – Silent Revolution ties in with the first two tracks and Graveheart is the last smasher. Guys who love Hardcore will be enamored by the stomping parts. I have the impression at any time, that the songs are too fully loaded, copied or something like that. A really big thing – we have to keep an eye of BLOODWORK!
