Well, I supposed to hear some another trashy and low-produced ultra evil Black Metal band from Greece. But hey, errare humanum est! I really failed with my forecast! BLACK WINTER would really blast themselves into the heaven of coolness of Melodic Black Metal! Fucking great, melodic, cool and perfectly played leads, which are influenced by the typical 80s Heavy Metal riffs and rhythms. In addition here come the rocky and polyphone guitar solos, that sympathizes with those of (old) Metallica and Iron Maiden. However, the biggest part of the four compositions comes in Melodic Black Metal style with tremolo-guitars like chants and harmony-anthems in a good and fat production. This band demonstrates all people the opposite, who mean that melodic BM has to be overflowed with keyboards. The only minus on Dismal Fields Of Nihilism is the lack of individualism. Of course this album shines bright a real metal feeling, but there is a lack of recognition, because it’s similar to bands like Dissection (but not as fast and technical) or Amon Amarth. If you listen to the vocals, you could say, that they are really influenced by those of Mystic Circle. However, this band deserves to be heard!!!
