You got to have this album now! Did I convince you already? No? Not yet? Ok, ok I will try to broaden your views on this awesome Polish band, that goes by the name of BLACK RIVER with a bit more details on their newest Black’N’Roll.
This album isn’t your anything “traditional” and will definitely not fit into the normal parameters of the genre. Black’N’Roll has a different character; it stands out from the crowd with its metalized sound, its groovy riffs and yet old school attitude. Black’N’Roll has balls, baby!
The album starts off with Barf Bag, which sets you onto the next 40 minutes of sheer Metalized Rock‘N’Roll. The track is fast and to the point.
The first highlight is definitely Lucky In Hell, which blew me away from its first riff. The sound is old school and for those of you who are into Danzig. I must admit that Taff’s vocals made this track the masterpiece it is. I simply cannot take it from repeat.
“I'm leaving that place, my home is where my music goes” are the lyrics that Black’N’Roll starts with. This track not only entitles the album, but definitely describes it in terms of music and lyrics power.
Jumping Queenny Flash is a mixture of the famous tracks Jumping Jack Flash and God Save the Queen and believe it or not this combination rules. The shredding guitars and the hardness of the bass make a crazy combination. Towards the ending of the track you can hear a roaring group of BLACK RIVER fans shouting the chorus.
Black’N’Roll, as well as its previous one Black River, tries to combine the hardness of Rock‘n’Roll with the velocity of metal music. One can definitely hear the harshness of Orion’s bass and Daray’s drums and the insane voice of Taff.
Enough of me babbling here! Try them on myspace and order the album! I know I won’t stop liking these guys any day soon.
