This album
was already recorded in 2003 and comes without any info, while
the only homepage I could find seems to be orphaned for ages.
OK, no problem, then I can fully concentrate on the music …
And the most fitting drawer was quickly found: BLACK HORIZONS
play old school black metal, where blast parts and sluggish passages
are quite balanced. The guitars sound sharp, but not too shrill,
and sometimes the band hints musically to the death metal genre,
especially when it comes to the slower parts and singing. At some
spots again the (German? – yes, Sir!) duo is significantly
more melodic than expected, for example in The Eyes Of God
and Bloody Moon. Occasionally, they also use an acoustic
guitar, giving some variety to the music.
Besides, one will get the normal average black metal fare on Suicide
Symphonies; technically well-done, but too predictable
and thus, not essential enough. Worth mentioning is the good production,
which is mangy enough, not to be true, but does not let my speakers
sound as pure tweeters.
That’s all that can be told about BLACK HORIZONS.
Oh, I forgot … the rating … I try it with 6,5 points.
