Aggressiveness
is one of the most important emotions concerning BEFORE THE
FALL, but for heaven’s sake not the only one on Antibody.
In the foreground, bullets like Fucked Up World hit your
auditory canals in merciless manner through hefty chords, impressing
vocals and captivating rhythms. The modern, but not too cold sound
and a spoken sample conjure up an apocalyptic mood. It gets really
interesting with the next eerie track Burden Of The Past
including a musical clock’s melody and dark vocals reminding
me of Moonspell in convenient style. The following piece Destroy
explains itself, whereby the band adds a touch of darkness anew.
On Your Knees will appeal to all fans of Fear Factory or
Crowbar; in the second part, a hymnal approach and long instrumental
parts enrich the scenery. Filigree guitar tones emboss the tune
Crucified Perdition and the concluding shred-rhythm gets
all the more power. Underneath the tough exterior, I can find
some details out of the way, which attach a multidimensional effect
to Antibody. Direct hitters like Go To Hell
can be found, but the raging attitude gets loosened by changes
of mood every now and then. Calm guitar sounds in course of Never
Been Born smooth the way for a machine-like rhythm, ere Warcry
invites us all to sing or mosh along. The album ends with the
piano melody Antibody in very harmonious and contained
mode.
In the end, I get the impression of a really energetic work, which
does not rush in only brutally and therefore sprays a breeze of
distinctiveness.
