What a promising title! Can the music behind also satisfy? After the demo Seelenwinter with some good approaches, the band worked them out more careful. AZRAEL increased their level of quality. At first, the optical effect that the music is located on a black CD’s side is quite nice.
The interplay got better in evidence; some bumpy passages are a thing of the past. Musically the guys round front-man Gargamel, äh sorry, Daniel range in melodic Death Metal, the voice features affinity to Black Metal. In the opening track Black Divinity the guitar melodies can be heard clearly - generally the sound is created well-balanced. The bass is represented with some solo spots and well tempered. The second song Pure Hate does not change the direction, again cool melodies, a pumping bass and fine played drums meet the enjoyable voice of Dan – and the interaction of all these components provokes complaisant agreement and my thumbs go up for felicitous song writing. Unfortunately Seelenfeuer is the last track and it is the best one in my opinion: primarily the German lyrics make up this advantage, because they amplify the musical penetrating power. AZRAEL demonstrate a good intuition for melodies in combination with heaviness anew and therefore I only can applaud and congratulate! It would be nice, if the number of tracks would increase in the future, the quality matches at all events!
