AUTOAGGRESSION
earned a lot of praise for several contributions to the renowned
samplers of Septic before releasing Geräuschinformatik,
and the tracks 3,14 and Blau already haunt the
clubs for some time. Now there is a chance to enjoy AUTOAGGRESSION
on a whole album and the question is, if the high expectations
toward this album can be kept.
Against the above mentioned energetic tracks leading to uncontrollable
twitches, which you can find on the album, Geräuschinformatik
starts quite slow with II A Filter 3 and its ominous
and menacing synthie arrangement much like Imminent Starvation,
which are soon underlaid with a pushing beat and create a trance-like
atmosphere. After 3,14 everything slows down with Aufwärtsrosten
and Kubus, which spread a homely lounge mood with complex,
slow rhythm and recitatives and chilly sound arrangement. Reflector
turns again to tougher tones. This song is one of the absolute
highlights of Geräuschinformatik
with its tough, dry noise and empathic vocals and will even make
people move, who do not like to dance. Tempel 3 has a
tendency to rhythm-and-noise and from folly breaks of Das
Nyquist Theorem the musical journey nearly comes to jazzy
electronica in Balken und Schwarz-Weiß-Kontraste,
when Blau as last but one track starts an attack on the
dance floor again.
As it is easy to see, Geräuschinformatik
offers many facets of electronic music, which has to be fathomed
first, as Geräuschinformatik needs
some warm-up time for the “Intellectual Industrial”
as it is called by the band. The reward is the high musical standard
of the Dependent-Newcomers from the Ruhr Area in North Rhine-Westphalia,
where more can be expected in the future. My CD player won’t
let go of this album right now…..
