Funk, Crossover,
Red Hot Chilli Peppers – these words are sufficient to describe
this Italian band roughly.
Easy listening with nothing spectacular to tell about. You find
some ironic lyrics (Mariah for example) and lots of groovy
rhythms that entertain you for the following 57 minutes and 33
seconds. Nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately ATOMIC
ANTS never reach the quality of the RHCP, so the music
remains on a level "not quite outstanding".
Junior's voice (the singer) perfectly fits to the band and the
style, yet this fact does not help to escape the swamp of boredom.
The Spandau Ballet cover of Through The Barricades does
not fit at all to the album Keep Cool And Dry.
If you wish only to enlarge your collection of Funk/Crossover
for a lazy Sunday afternoon, you can surely go and get Keep
Cool And Dry.
