Hailing from a small community in suburbia hell, five strangely different guys combine forces to create ADJACENT TO NOTHING who has proven Utah has not suppressed their talents in the least. Heavy influences range from Tool, Korn, to Mud Vayne, though the common names do not prove this band to be so ordinary. Some of the tribal drum and bass techniques remind one of Moonspell’s style, but with more power and metal behind them. Even with such influences, ADJACENT TO NOTHING makes their own signature sound that is incomparable to any. Paralyzed has become one to set the bar on musical achievements and distinctiveness for their one of a kind sound. Already setting out with impressive commentaries from some highly known bands to sharing the stage with such legends as Type O Negative, Drowning Pool, Pissing Razors, Flaw, AdamShip, Hemlock, 40 Below Summer, Ill Nino and more have given them a reputation to raise some hell and have a killer show on stage.

Hitting hard with the first song to last, the song Help really shows their harder side of their music while Slide Show has all kinds of styles from melodic to raging metal laced within this song. With a voice of pure blood and gold, Mike Shumway knows how to work the mic. From soothing sensual melodic choruses to fast paced screams and metal gores, this voice is in the set to impress mode. Guitarist Jake Merrill who is labeled “Best In Utah” joined ADJACENT TO NOTHING’s forces to add his killer axe to the metal molestation of sweet heavenly metal. Beauty rains from his guitar while bassist Spencer Walker intertwines himself with in the music creating a solid hard vibe. Cameron Jacobs follows up with a clean drums, tribal beats, and rhythms setting the band on fire. The second guitarist Dan Hathaway adds the final flare to this masterful sound perfecting it to sweet bliss.
