It's already the third release that I have been reviewing within the last month from Laser's Edge Records - but this time it's a damn hard work to write down some lines to ANTI-DEPRESSIVE DELIVERY's debut. Compromised of various Norwegian bands, Feel. Melt. Release. Escape. is a solid work of classic progressive rock with a modern and warm metal-production. Imagine German Krautrockers Kraan combined with some technical Dream Theater-stuff, add some Winds-like atmosphere - the result is somehow of what ANTI-DEPRESSIVE DELIVERY sounds like. The only problem I experience is that I can't listen to this release in one approach since the songs start getting on my nerves somehow. Proving technical facility is one thing but not exaggerating it is another. But that's not really this thing that I dislike, I suppose. Furthermore many of the riffs are too "noisy" somehow and make me miss straight melodies. And so I have to suggest that ADD failed to include some more easy-listening-stuff too in their sound - unfortunately! Because overall Feel. Melt. Release. Escape. is a well-done debut that has just grown a bit too complex. It's somehow a pity... Perhaps the band manages to get a bit more compact in the future. As for this CD I strongly recommend listening to it before buying. You have been warned ;)
