It is always nice to find new bands and come over surprising albums despite the intense dealing with the Black Metal scene.
PARAGON BELIAL afford quite surprising Black Metal with felicitous ideas. What are the reasons that my thumbs go up? The sinister trio does not only perform in merciless speed attacks but throttles the tempo to integrate the one or other atmospheric part. Thereby the compositions disperse a dirty Rock’n’Roll feeling, just like Motörhead would have decided to play Black Metal :)
Consequently the cover version of Hellhammer’s Horus/Aggressor fits in perfectly. PARAGON BELIAL attach the impelling sound of Black/Thrash bands like Nocturnal Breed and manage to create a nice, partly egregious work. I think that also fans of first class Black Metal groups like Secrets Of The Moon or Dark Fortress could be appealed by this harsh, but intense and alternating mixture. Some songs rush in very fast, but also in high speed attacks like Solemnize Me intense vocals and fine delicacies like bell rings care for sentiments.
During the dynamic and dramatic track Necromancer, the band takes out all speed and single drum hits as well as acoustic guitars perform the instrumental work; in addition, the harsh voice of Andras acts in dark manner. The album misses out an outstanding direct hit, although tunes like Necromancer or the concluding Black Metal United & Strong bring home the bacon.

Nosferathu Sathanis is wrapped into a sound which offers power and roughness. Over and above, the bass guitar sounds cool, no complaint about feeble overall impression concerning the acoustic presentation. The spirit of Old School Black Metal gets combined with a transparent wall of sound – well done guys!
