Founded in 2007, England's OLD CORPSE ROAD have slowly made their way into the current top UK black metal bands with their brand of unique Folk and Black Metal. 'Tis Witching Hour is their first full length album, after a split with The Meads Of Asphodel and an EP. Their name was taken from a road in the Lake District - in the UK corpse roads were roads where the dead were taken to the cemetery, spawning a lot of ghost stories and tales. OLD CORPSE ROAD are telling the tales of British folklore, their music is haunting, enchanting and theatrical. Stories are told in different kind of voices - whispering, shouting, spoken and when they lay in, they really create some fierce black metal. You will not get bored by this album quickly, and I dare you not to have Isobel – Queen Of The Scottish Witches and The Wild Voice Came/The Crier Of Claiffe as an earworm soon.
