We already certified the superb debut EP Accursed with 8 out of 10 points. Now MORIDIGAN bring forth their first full-length entitled Spawn Of The Mind’s Abyss. Short-length would have been more suiting but it does not make it less resounding.
However, MORIDIGAN pick up where Accursed was left off in 2009 and deliver still raw and brutal Death Metal, respectfully bowing towards Deicide, Morbid Angel and Suffocation, but never lose their originality and independence. Spawn Of The Mind’s Abyss has a lot of variety and surprising twists and turns to offer. There is an acoustic intro in Heathen and For He Who Was When Time Was Not (incl. spoken words), as well as an unexpected piano part in UT. In between one will see hellish fast blast beats (The Grey Gods) and pace-reduced but neck-breaking groove parts (Gravebound – killer song! and Disobedient) reign, enriched by various guitar solos. Not filigree but with finesse. There is surely still some room left for fine tuning (also production wise), but so far: Spawn Of The Mind’s Abyss kills! Perfectly made to take a deep breath and to get your head clear…
