Dark trance movement of melodies coats the structures of what MIRROR OF DECEPTION constructs. Lyrical content is afar what one has in mind for a doom metal band of this nature for they excel beyond most. A smooth even tone is felt throughout the entire length of this latest release of Foregone, something unsullied and non-repetitive. My personal opinions for the Foregone release: all the songs are favs in my list due to melodious amalgamate that captures an essence not heard by doom metal bands of today.
Being that MIRROR OF DECEPTION has been around since the early 90’s one would have gathered a stronger foundation of seriousness to establish a name for this line-up, but as with all things uncertainty has its place. In this case, I see this as a benefit in a way for the band to concentrate on what they are trying to establish musically. Since this is the band’s 2nd release they seem to know which direction they are headed, through changes in the past lineup did not mar the musical focus of this group. Musically, MIRROR OF DECEPTION’s music blends a tuneful appeal that this recording of Foregone has a quality that cannot be replicated by most bands of this type these days. As for any show updates, the band is to be scheduled to venture on a small tour with Swedish doom gents Count Raven. Something to lookout for!
