When it comes time to check out a metal band from Sweden, I am never disappointed. I find that region of the world to produce the most genuine metal on the planet. It is also what I find when I discover the underground sounds of LEGIONS OF WAR.

In The Snipers Eyes is one of their first 4 song demos. Recorded in BBC Studios by John Godsoyr its quality of sound for a demo is quite superb. I am amazed that this band has not been signed to a label yet. They have quite a unique sound to them. It is a combination of thrash metal with black metal overtones. Dare I call it War Metal, with bleak subject matter about snipers and death and album imagery of war scenes. With black metal type screamed vocals done up by vocalist/guitarist Zyklon, and thrashy drum beats of C. Stalinorgel. Widowreaper’s dark gallop of thrash guitar riffs and solos and fast and furious bass work by Hellwind completes the line up of LEGIONS OF WAR.

In The Snipers Eye passes all too quickly in its near 15 minute display of vulgar power. It will leave your ears hungry for more. Fans of both thrash and black metal should be satisfied by the LEGIONS OF WAR.
