From the first
second on, the German lyrics cut into the auditory canals in nasty
manner, dealing with misanthropic subjects, IRDORATH force
some hooks deep into the listener’s flesh and breathe fire
and brimstone against Christianity.
Impelling rhythms, really catchy hooklines and a very intense
voice carry the music, apart from many measure changes. The biting
sound acts like the cherry on the cake and boosts the effect of
the aggressive compositions. Consequently, the title track shows
up as downright catchy tune without drowning the aggression. Some
might think that the lyrics come across in very striking and superficial
style, but let’s take it with a wink in the eye.
Unfortunately, the intensity of the first track cannot be reached
anew despite of other catchy refrains. Every now and then, unobtrusive
keyboards appear and enrich the impact of Freitodzwang.
For a bigger part, the band focuses on speed, which does not end
up in chaos. Many groovy parts are integrated and some throttled
sequences like at the end of Bald Ersäuft Die Menschenbrut
loosen the songs’ structures.
I like the vocal work during the tune Fleischgewordner Antigott,
which sounds cynically and sardonically in its multi-layer style.
Afterwards, a hymnal lead decorates Das Stolze Tier and
the depressed as well as borne beginning adorns the track Spiegelscherben.
The concluding composition called Taubheit combines all
trademarks like catchiness, groove and melodies.
Some elements
like flogging speed attacks, intoxicating grooves, memorable refrains
and some felicitous breathers stay in my memory. A few tracks
include a dirty attitude and attach another element to the versatile,
intense and very good sounding music. Warning: could cause fast
driving!
