After a short
while it is clear for me that INFINITY are on the right
path! The able artists cudgel through mighty dark and detailed
hymns in the vein of such masters like Naglfar or Dissection
The sentimental introduction called Precatio Luciferius
is just over, as the song From The Eternal Seas He Rises
enthuses with impelling melodies, an acoustic middle part as well
as an aggressive but not overacted brutal voice. The two guys
perform in mostly fast manner and they know very well how to combine
effective riffs and egregious refrains adeptly.
Among others, the acoustic guitar’s introduction of The
Rise Of Azazel turns out to be very felicitous. In further
course, drum hits and harmonic leads are adopted, ere the acoustic
storm gets unleashed after a minute. The furiousness does not
seem to be unstructured or chaotic at all – unfortunately
INFINITY forgot in this case to write an egregious chorus
for this well done track and so I miss a hook that stays in my
long term memory.
Afterwards I look for contrasting acoustic or slower elements
in vain, but just in this moment I complain about this instance,
a short borne intermezzo is offered. Though, some songs turn out
to be too one-dimensional at the end and therefore I have to revise
my enthusiasm a little bit.
An occult interplay with spoken conjuring lyrics leads us to the
monumental work The Legend Of The Sunken Monastery, which
offers acoustic guitars as a brownie. In the beginning I appreciate
the choral-like vocals, then middle paced, stomping rhythms dominate
and are combined harmonically with plucked melodies, crowned by
an egregious solo.. A while later, INFINITY let the hammer
reign for two minutes, ere the monks’ choir closes the circle
adequately – in all, this is an acoustic adventure!
The concluding interpretation of Night’s Blood is a nice
bowing before mighty Dissection, but INFINITY cannot attach
any individual element to this cover version – what a pity!
INFINITY
play painstaking elaborated, partly fulminant Black Metal on The
Arcane Wisdom Of Shadows drifting to monotony from time
to time. Blessed with powerful sounds, the band will surely evoke
some enthusiastic grins among the fans of Dark Funeral, Setherial
or the groups named further above.
