The
band IN MITRA MEDUSA INRI exists since the early
90s, and since then they release their records with beautiful wave-pop-songs
– although they don’t belong to the well-known bands
in this scene. Without A View Of Things
is their sixth album, and again the duo presents melancholic music,
that sometimes has more electronic and sometimes more guitarwave-elements.
IN MITRA MEDUSA INRI did not change their sound,
but we didn’t expect this, did we? Tracks such as Her
Perfect Beauty or What I Think are nice songs with
influences from The Cure and Clan of Xymox – sometimes. But
IN MITRA MEDUSA INRI do not stand still, they put
new elements in their songs, such as sound-gimmicks, the German
voice on the title-track Without A View Of Things or heavier
guitars sometimes. But fortunately they did not use the Futurepop-elements
again; they tried this on the last album. All in all the album is
more or less quiet – not until the last songs Calling
It A Thing Is Wrong and When I’m At Home, they
are a bit faster. As always with IN MITRA MEDUSA INRI:
A beautiful work, but maybe you will miss the climax while listening
to the whole record. |
