It still took
some time, but when the new HEADSHOT release is first off
the mark, than its worth listening. In case of the fourth release
As Above, So Below the German guys from Braunschweig
needed five years, believe it or not. I’ll bet you, the
Thrash Metal community would be thankful for shorter intervals
between the Thrash wrecking balls enrooted in the Bay Area. However
who suspects exclusive old school is not utterly mistaken. HEADSHOT’s
guarantor for success can be found in the way to facelift the
Thrash prior times. Not for nothing comparisons to Exodus, Artillery,
Kreator or Testament can be drawn. As Above, So Below
owns all a metallic heart desires: the tracks kicks ass in up-tempo-style
predominantly, as predominantly as tempered parts and groove still
find its place. Befitting one’s rank the presented solos
will please guitar heroes and that the guys have the ability to
design a nine minutes track kittenish brilliant as the axemen
run riot in an orderly fashion is attested by the title track
once and the following instrumental The Swarm twice (about
five minutes). Basically everything fits here. Why the big deal
does stays away by now? I have no idea. Maybe it works when female
vocalist Daniela Karrer (ex Uppercut) completes the line up. She
replaces Andi Bruer who left the band after recording this release.
What a pity, his voice placed between shouts and sirens fitted
quite well to HEADSHOT. Let’s hope that Firefield
Records has enough power to push them straight forward.
