Listening to Project 47 is like a continuously running Déjà vu. The distinct intro of the opener Believe In God, singing, voices … speculations, pondering …
Until I got the idea in mind to check our own achieve, and … surprise … Me, I and myself has reviewed EXOTHERM’s last effort Project 47 around a year ago! So what happened?
Hailing from Lindlar, Germany, these five gents have secured a deal with German Limited Access Records. Taking this chance their self-financed album underwent a live-cell treatment in matter of sound and mastering. Now the debut album is again available as digipack with a new and great cover artwork and a well-designed booklet.
Musically speaking the references are still the same and I still love the music a lot! Cannot get it out of my head …
A short synopsis: earthy Power Metal in the veins of German legends Rage with two-voices-singing. The clean voice comes from singer Georg Laudenbach, while axe man Alexander Braikrats adds his raspy vocals that reminds me a lot of Daniel Brennare (Lake Of Tears). It is wonderfully mesmerizing … (check out the older review).
The only thing to nag about is the fact that EXOTHERM has just added one bonus track (a wonderful acoustic version of Icarus). C’mon guys! After one year you really could have added the one or the other new songs! For that I reduce an half point in the B-note! So! But hey, who can satisfy women? ;)
A Must-have! Just great, ass kicking! And now I finally wanna see them live!
