ATROX wanted to reinvent the conservative Gothic Metal genre. But here
it seems they overshoot the mark. Perhaps they are really a few
lightyears ahead of the scene, but more likely is, that the whole
album is put together of stolen parts from the bands mentioned in
their info (Voivod, Fear Of God, The Gathering, Cynic, Meshuggah,
Led Zeppelin, Third And The Mortal, Diamanda Galas).
The musical mix between progressive guitars, doublebass/staccato
assaults and atmospheric parts is okay but without an ongoing flow.
The female vocals are really hard to take, a mix between The Gathering
like “normal” singing and something that sounds like
a lunatic howling in outta space. No thanks…
Respect for the will to create something new, but this is all too
much, and not very unique…
Sorry, but only five points. |
