So
much time has passed since JARBOEs first solo European
tour. Many things have changed, many things got done. During the
last 4 years the grand dame of extreme music had released a lot
of albums and collaborations, in her very own and personal way,
as CDRs, manufactured by herself with many little details inside.
No record is the same.
In 2008 JARBOE finally released an album again, Mahakali,
via a label (Season Of Mist) and comes across the pond again for
another European excursion, bringing us the myths of the Great
Kali, the primeval force of the universe.
Unfortunately, the Mahakali Assassins Tour was kinda
star-crossed. First, the original tour support Nachtmystium had
to drop off due to injury. But the booker has found another, two
awesome bands as replacement: ESOTERIC and SECRETS OF
THE MOON, also meant in view of expected attendances. So at
least thought label and booking agency, and so I thought too.
Dream on! Advanced ticket sales were really bad and, additionally,
a couple of dates didn’t work out (Scandinavia, Austria)
and so it got quickly clear that I would have much room to take
photos during the three days I wanted to see them playing live
*sighs* But hey, who buys tickets in advanced when there is no
need? Hope springs eternal...
